Nine modalities, close to 30 years of experience behind each one

Elias treats each session on its own terms. Below is what each modality actually involves and when it tends to get used.

Remedial Massage

Remedial massage is assessment-led. Elias works out what is actually causing the pain or restriction, whether that is a tight muscle, poor posture, or overuse, and treats that directly rather than giving a general full-body rubdown. It is the base modality behind most sessions here.

Deep Tissue

Deep tissue work uses slower strokes and firmer, sustained pressure to reach the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. It is suited to chronic tightness and long-standing tension that lighter massage does not shift, and it is one of the modalities Elias uses most often for sports-related soreness.

Dry Needling

Fine, single-use needles are inserted directly into a tight muscle knot or trigger point to release it. It is a targeted technique, not acupuncture, aimed at reducing localised pain and restoring normal muscle length.

Trigger Point Therapy

Sustained, focused pressure is applied directly to a trigger point, a small area of contracted muscle that refers pain elsewhere in the body. Releasing it can ease pain in a completely different spot to where the pressure is applied, which is common with shoulder and headache complaints.

Cupping

Cups are placed on the skin to create gentle suction, drawing blood flow up into the tissue underneath. It is used to loosen tight fascia and muscle, and to support recovery after hard physical work or training.

Myofascial Therapy

This works on the fascia, the connective tissue that wraps around muscles, rather than the muscle itself. Slow, sustained pressure is used to release restrictions in that tissue, which can ease pain and improve range of movement even when the muscle itself tests fine.

Lymphatic Drainage

A light, rhythmic technique that encourages fluid movement through the lymphatic system. It is used to reduce swelling and puffiness and to support the body's own recovery process after injury, surgery, or heavy training.

Swedish

Long, flowing strokes at a lighter pressure than deep tissue work. It is used for general relaxation and as a warm-up technique before moving into firmer remedial or deep tissue work in the same session.

Muscle Energy Techniques (MET)

A hands-on technique where the client actively contracts a muscle against gentle resistance, then relaxes it, which helps lengthen tight muscles and improve joint movement. It is often used alongside remedial massage for stubborn restrictions.
